However, this will not be the end of the previous content being brought back to life. The event will also see Firebase Z come in, the brand-new Zombies map, alongside League Play, the ranked playlist in which Express first made its impact.Įxpress will come in as the third map from Black Ops 2 to be implemented, following Raid and Nuketown '84.
EXPRESS CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 2 UPDATE
The developers have now announced that Express is being slipped into Black Ops Cold War, in the Season 1 Reloaded update on February 4. With bomb sites linked through terminals within each spawn, Express makes for a tactical masterclass relying on teamwork and communication. It was also used as a place holder for the R870 MCS in the greenlight alpha.Express has come from Black Ops 2, where it depicted the stereotypical Treyarch design of three lanes, with the small exception of a bullet train moving down anyone caught on the tracks.

FNP 45 Early version of Tac-45 handgun seen in greenlight alpha gameplay.Type 95 scrapped heavy machine gun that can be seen in greenlight alpha gameplay although it reuses the HK21 machine gun model from the first Black Ops.M61 vulcan scrapped minigun that reuses the deathmachine gun model from the first Black Ops.Scrapped very early on, but can be seen in greenlight alpha gameplay. Had it made it into the game, it would be the second time in the franchise that it appeared with its standard carry handle as opposed to custom sights. A very early menu icon (in both large and small sizes) has been found, however. M4: Seen in a promotional poster, but nowhere in the actual game. Two versions of its menu icon, one large and one small, remain. Interestingly the menu icon is named "menu_mp_weapons_strela_big", implying that weapons in the 1980's campaign weapons were once available in multiplayer. Strela-3: A vehicle only rocket launcher.MAC-11: A text string for buying the MAC-11 can be found.A text string for buying Dual Kiparis' can be found. Kiparis: This beast of an SMG from Black Ops sadly didn't make the cut.Stoner 63 LMG: The Stoner 63 has a text string in the files.Grim Reaper: The Grim Reaper from Call of Duty: Black Ops has an unused Create-a-Class icon.Probably replaced by the RPD, in a complete reversal from the first Black Ops (where the RPD was replaced with the RPK) in either case the wrong weapon was used. RPK: A text string for buying the RPK can be found.A text string for buying it still remains. Skorpion: Not to be confused with the new Skorpion EVO but rather the Skorpion from the first game.Sabertooth: A chainsaw that was cut from the first game but has a text string for buying it in Zombies.Thunder Gun: While replaced by the Jet Gun this time around, a text string has been found for buying it off the wall.OLD P90: A string can be found in text files. However, the pick-up icon still remains in the game's data and has a string mentioned in the text files. Commando: The Commando from Call of Duty: Black Ops didn't return and can only be seen in the Behind the Scenes video.Interestingly, the War Machine is called the "XM25" in the game files (but only for Zombies mode). XM25: The XM25 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has an unused Create-a-Class icon and a text string to buy it in Zombies, and judging by the different design compared to the used Create-a-Class icons, it was cut early on.However, most of those weapons were still mentioned in the text files for Zombies (most likely leftovers from Black Ops).

Sadly, most weapons from previous titles did not return in Black Ops II in order to fit the futuristic setting.
